THE SAUNA
A hidden gem hides on the first floor of the Guest House- a luxurious 4 person Swedish sauna. Step inside for the ultimate experience in relaxation. There is also a shower and bathroom immediately next to the sauna for exclusive use.
The sauna is available as an add-on for overnight guests or for a nominal fee on an as available basis for Island residents. Island residents, please contact us directly for more information.
Hiking & Biking on the Island
Lummi Island Heritage Trust maintains 4 preserves, Aiston, Baker, Otto and Curry, with great walks/hikes.
There are also several lovely walks and enjoyable bike rides along the north loop road of the Island, which is a 7-mile full loop with views of the Salish Sea, Orcas Island, the reefnet fishing rigs on the west and Mt Baker, the Cascade range, and Bellingham to the east.
Beaches
There are 2 public beaches on the Island:
Sunset Beach on W Shore Drive, and
Lummi Island Beach access north of the ferry dock.
The Lummi Island Congregational Church also graciously allows access to the beach behind the Church as well as the Stone Labyrinth.
Food
Come prepared to enjoy our well outfitted kitchen as there are not many food options on the Island. We do recommend:
Beach Store Cafe for dine in and take-out.
Full Bloom Farm, for amazing produce and curated locally produced food.
The Islander, for your general store supplies.
The Artisan Wine Gallery, great selection of wines, open Fridays and Saturdays 4 – 6 pm and by appointment for your wine emergencies.
Every summer Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm in the field next to The Islander.
Lummi Island is the home to many talented artists. There is an Artists' Studio Tour 3 times a year (usually Memorial Day, Labor Day and a weekend in November). For more information, follow the LIAST on Instagram.
The WWU Ann Morris Sculpture Woods is open the 1st Saturday of the month and is well worth the visit.
